    Default Site Re-design

I've had a play around with the site design of the news section. Really an excuse to try and generate some interest in the reviews and guides section to be honest:

As you can see, I've made a few changes to the site over the weekend. The most obvious is the site design, which I jope you all like. The old design was starting to look a bit, well, old. So I gave the place a lick of green paint.

You'll also notice that I've added a modification to the posting box. You can now add video directly to your post. Please note that there is still an issue regarding large images and text breaking the forum template. I would be grateful if you could refrain from posting large images and/or video until this is sorted.

    Thanks

    Marc

Ta. I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it needed a change!

These questions always make me chuckle. It took me a very long time - two days solid from start to finish (mostly whilst waiting for a video to render on my other machine). I'm afraid I'm not one of those people that can knock out a masterpiece in 5 minutes. In fact it seems it takes me on average 10 times longer to produce stuff that it does most other people on the internet.

What do I use? The images (the boxes to the left, and the banner above) were created in Paint Shop Pro 9. Yep, no fancy graphics packages for Marc. I know how to use PSP and it does exactly what I want. If I had Photoshop I'm sure I'd be flumoxed, just as I'm sure I would be with Adobe After Effects. I know it's not going to make me any more artistic or talented, so I stay away from them!

For the CSS I essentially used a text editor and IE. Again, not much point in using anything fancy!

...and to put that into context, I stayed up until 5am last night. On a Saturday.

I like it, more nicerer than it was, more kind of post modern urban chic with a hint of an neo unconformist influence.

    Shit.

I said to myself, 'whatever you do, don't go down the post modern urban chic with a hint of neo unconformism route'.

Bloody typical. Right, back to square one.
