    Default Managed to render... but?

I've just put together a twenty minute rough cut using Vegas 5. The idea was to render to MPEG 2, then burn a DVD to see what the footage looked like on TV.

I rendered the footage (about 30 minutes to completion), then went ahead with the DVD burn. However, the result only plays on my PC via Windows Media Player, and my domestic Pioneer DVD player isn't able to play the disc.

    What did I do wrong?

Did you 'author' the DVD or simply burn an MPEG to disc? A DVD needs to be authored with a specific structure and your software will do this for you.

If you have this structure (essentially VOB and IFO file(s) under a VIDEO_TS folder), then it coudl be a case of incompatible media.

Sounds like that is what needs to be done, nero is what i often use, but there are lots of authoring programs ouit there.

I didn't author the file. I burned the rendered MPEG file directly to a -R DVD. I assumed that it is the same as burning a SVCD, where you can directly burn the data to a CD through Vegas.
