    Default external or internal

I am ready to buy a dvd rewrite drive and I wondered which was best internal or external does any one have any opinions please I already have a cd rewrite fitted which I can remove but it is set up as a slave and I have been told that using a dvd drive as a slave could cause problems ie slow it down also I have two hard drives fitted so there is not much room in there

An external drive will be more expensive.

I would suggest you attach the DVD writer to the secondary IDE channel along with you existing CD drive. Better still, just replace it.
