Thread: Capture In Premier Pro - Firewire

  1. Default Capture In Premier Pro - Firewire

When I stream in from my camcorder into the project using firwire, It sometimes it stops when the file size is around 4 GB. Is this due to my FAT32 file system.

For one hour miniDV tape I had to to save to 6 separate files during capture, i.e. you cannot leave the capture and go of and do other things.

Would switching to the other file system be the solution and if so HOW?

    Many thanks,

    Porto

Yes, it's a FAT32 limitation. What Operating System are you running?

OK, there's an option somewhere (i think it's in start/programs/accessories/system tools) called "drive convertor" or something. Run that and it should convert your file system over. It's not without its risks though. Make sure EVERYTHING is backed up first.

Personally, I'd wipe the hard drive and start again, but if that's not an option, run the convertor.
