    Default firewire



    Can anybody tell me if Firewire is easy to use as i am considering having it installed on my PC?

    Yes, firewire is easy to use, if you are going to transfer video from a camcorder to the compute it's the only way to go. Forget about USB, it's only good for still pictures and streaming. All of the video editing software is set up to handle video captured using firewire. I take you're going for a PCI job?

    The name of this forum should be changed from Video Editing Forums: Digital Director to Firewire is the One True Transfer Method! All Bow Down Before Firewire!

    it's easy to install, too. i'm far from a hardware whiz, but the directions that came with the firewire i bought was straightforward enough that i did it myself.

    firewire is plug and play f)

    yeah well im transfering using usb and the quality is the the same as when i watch it on a tv screen. maybe thats why?

    it wont be fire wire is the way to go.
