    Default Wheres my camcorder

    Ive just spent almost 1500 on a Canon XM2 camcorder Guess what no firewire cable supplied!! When i try to download video from the cam.My program { ULead DVD movie factory } tells me there is no capture device in the system. I can download still images ok but no video. Im using the supplied USB cable. Would using a Firewire cable make any difference--- ps im a complete novice at this game

    Alex C -- yes, a firewire cable is what you need. It's the standard for the video transfer.

    Thanks for your quick reply Tone - I'll get one tomorrow --If it doesnt work its the Priory for me !!!!

    The name of this forum should be changed from Video Editing Forums: Digital Director to Firewire is the One True Transfer Method! All Bow Down Before Firewire!

    Good news !!!! --- got a firewire and got my cam. back -- no need to sign into the Priory --- Thanks to all who replied to my prob..
