    Default It's not a race. It's a journey.

    For me it's not a race. It's a journey.
I joined the competition to showcase my talents, not to win,
just to express myself in a way that I have never had before.
I've been told that my videos are more a work of art than anything else.
Think of it like a famous painting that a lot of people hate but they look at it anyway.
If you don't try you'll never succeed.
The lyrics from a recent RUSH song come to mind.
    "Out Of The Cradle"

    It's not a place
    It's a yearning
    It's not a race
    It's a journey
    It's not an act
    It's attraction
    It's not a style
    It's an action
It's a dream for the waking
It's a flower touched by flame
It's a gift for the giving
    It's a power with a hundred names.
    Weave.

Sorry folks, I said I'd come up with something and didn't.

Loads of promlems (excuses), including people letting me down and work comitments etc., but my wife miscarried a few weeks ago, so the last few days of my planned editing obviously moved to the back burner.

When things get a bit more normal around here, I'll finish off my "Red" themed short, and post it on to Marc.

Yes, mate, sorry to hear about that. Some friends of mine have just gotten over a similar thing. There’s light at the end of the tunnel – it always surprises me how much stronger women can often be compared to us blokes. I hope you both regain your peace of mind soon.

We only went through that the once. Not a nice time. I can't imagine how you're feeling.

    I feel for you.

Thanks folks. The joke is, I'm sitting here editing somebody elses baby footage... who knew how hard this job would be.

The doc says every time is a one in six chance of it not working out. So we've rolled a six, then another six and another six. I make that a 1 in 216 chance of happening....

Anyways - enough of my problems, lets talk filming.

Argento: My prayers are with you and your wife.

    As requested... back to filming.

I have to confess that I was one who said YES and threw my hat into the mix to have something for this contest. I contemplated and came up with some ideas and even went so far as to write out a script. Everything was in place to go forward and then as life happens, things just did not get accomplished. Funny thing was that I was actually going to do something that could also be shown on our Sunday morning worship time as part of the sermon series. Needless to say, that did not happen but may in the near future. SORRY MARC.

As far as contests go... I personally do not care if there would have been a prize or not. The idea of coming up with something based on particular criteria and then showing it to your peers to critique is enough for me. I have a long way to go in my video editing journey and if time would allow me I am looking forward to that. Cannot say I do not have the equipment anymore as my new Sony HD camera arrived the other day.

Keep the contests or at least the challenges coming. MY VOTE or MY 2p as you all say.
