Default What ya think of this Spec?

    Intel® Pentium 4 processor with HT technology 650 (3.40GHz, 800FSB, 2MB cache)

    1024MB Dual Channel DDR2 533MHz (2x512) Memory

Dell 17" Value Flat Panel (E173FP)

    Video Card:
    256MB ATI Radeon® X600 HyperMemory graphics card

    Hard Drive:
250GB (7200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive with 8MB DataBurst™ cache

    CD/DVD Drive:
    16x DVD+/-RW & 16x DVD Drives

    Sound Card:
    Sound Blaster® Audigy™ 2 ZS, PCI w/Dolby Digital, 7.1 speaker support & IEEE1394

    5.1 Surround Speaker System

Anything I should look at upgrading? This computer wont be purly for editing, it will be a general home computer, games etc but Video Editing will take its toll on the system.

Im not sure if a 2GB RAM Upgrade would be worthwhile... or perhaps look into it at a later date.

    This will cost me £1000.

What motherboard are you using? The motherboard is VERY important - don't scrimp on it and get a cheap one - motherboards are NOT all the same, even if the specifications appear to suggest so.

RAM: Keep it at 1GB for the time being - you'd be best investing your money in an extra hard drive to use for video capture.

Video card: Hypermemory video cards use some of the system memory. Where it says it's 256MB, in reality it's probably 64MB, using 192MB of system RAM. I don't personally know the facts and figures that may relate to it, but i'd probably look for a video card with 256MB on board memory. If budget is your main concern, get something like a 256MB radeon X300 instead. If not, the X600 is a reasonable card for gaming.
