Default Power Director MPEG to Premiere Pro - grrrrr!

Greetings from Sydney! This is my first post and (naturally) I have a problem, of which I'd like to pick someone's generous brain!

I'm a reasonably experienced user of Cyberlink's Power Director, and have just spent ages and ages re-syncing live band footage with their sound-desk audio. I am keen (...read obsessed!) to edit the resulting MPEG2 files in Adobe Premier Pro (which I am very inexperienced in) but the files won't import, due to a "sound rate unsupported" error message. I can't control the bitrate pre-importing, and I can't seem to produce an AVI file either (now I know why Power Director is so cheap ) - so:

Do I have to re-capture through Premier (instead of Cyberlink's software) - and then re-edit/resync everything? Please don't let it be so.....

I would try using virtualdub - www.virtualdub.org - to import the mpeg then re-export as AVI.

    Hope this works for you!
