    Default New Feature

I thought it would be 'fun' to add an events section. Event suggestions welcome (film festivals, shows, or even small events you local 'club' is organising). Multimedia related, of course.

    Fantastic!

Marc - there are loads of features on this site that people don't use (i'm guily of this, i know).

Suggestion: Make a short (but most importantly interesting) video explaining the features of the site, and when people get the confirmation email (or maybe even on the registration page) they get a link to the video.

    Opinions?

Both the events section and the video are great ideas and fit perfectly with the site. Being the miserable git I am though, I have to ask how realistic is it that you will get the chance to put the video together Marc?

The problem with fully using the site is that most people will bookmark the forum. Once you're immersed in reading it you forget to check round the rest of the site frequently enough.

It shouldn't be too difficult to put the video together and should be a bit of fun to make.

If you're a regular poster, it really does help to become aquainted with a few of the sections I've created - the most important being the faq. There's a lot of information contained with the video editing guides section too, which can avoid duplication.

Although the search function is 100% working, most if not all the posts are indexed in google. If you think something has been asnwered before, you can use the following search:

    site:www.videoforums.co.uk keyword(s)

Finally the new section is updated fairly regularly, and you can add comments under both the news and any article I have published in the guides section.

I forgot to include the videos section in my last post.

It has been commented that a lot of the user posted videos go offline after a while. For new users it's nice to be able to view past videos, and I set up a video section to post and host the best videos from the user video section.

Since go live, no one has suggested a video for this section. If you see a video you want archived, contact me and with the user's permission I will host it on the Digital Director servers and add an entry at http://www.videoforums.co.uk/reviews/videos
