    Default playback problem

When viewing playback on my Sony handycam there are six wide grey horizontal lines across the picture. The camera is less than a year old and until today was working perfectly. Can anyone help

what's it like when you connect the camera up to a PC or a TV?

I am having this same problem. I see those exact same lines. Right int he center. When I plug into tv they are still there. But the tapes work fine in other camcorders. Anyone know how to solve this?

Sounds like a clogged head, most cameras have 2 so if one gets clogged half the picture goes.

Try a cleaner tape, if that fais then the head might be worn out, unlikely after a year unless you used it for hours every day.
