Default Playing my dvd-r disc on a dvd player

Help! I have just completed burning a video file, and it played really well on the computers dvd player, but it will not play on the dvd player that's connected to the tv. I used SonicRecord. & Octron dvd-r 8 speed. What's gone wrong???

Did you mean to say MPEG2? Providing you authored the DVD with a DVD authoring application (i.e created a file structure within the DVD standard containg an VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS, IFO and VOB files), then it could be that you're using media incompatible with your player.

    Default ?

Thanks for the replies. I didn't change or do anything to the settings,
as the sonicRecord program didn't ask me to. And there was nowhere to change anything. So all i did was burn the disc. Also, it won't play on my friends computer either, but she gets the sound. What can i do? In plain. simple terms please!
