Thread: Preview lags....

    Default Preview lags....

    When I press play to preview my video, it keeps laggin on every clip.. I tried installing some codec packs an gave the software more ram to work with... So far no luck.. any ideas?


    2800Mhz AMD XP
    1 GIG DDR 3200
    80 gigs

    What software are you using?

    COMPAQ something or other with 500Gb Boot Disk, 1Tb external Firewire Disk, 4Gb Memory and a super duper sound card, 19" TFT Monitor etc etc etc
    Sony TRV33e : Sony TRV310e : Canon XM2
    Sony Vegas Studio editions to v11

    Are the videos compressed at all or are they avi?

    from what i can remember I believe they all are divx avi's

    My brother and I are running almost identical systems var one thing - RAM - He runs 1.5Gig I'm running 2gig He gets lag I dont. so it could be that.

    Otherwise it could be the supercomression of DivX
