Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13 vs. VEGAS Movie Studio 17 Platinum?

Greetings - this is my first post here.

I got Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13 about five years ago and it does most of what I need, but I am wondering if VEGAS Movie Studio 17 Platinum would be worth getting.

One feature I would like - and VMS17P seems to have this - is Black Bar Fill Filter for handling iPhone portrait mode video. I have a project coming up that needs to use several clips like this.

Appreciate any feedback, opinions, etc.

(I am just an amateur who has picked up some knowledge over the years, but now looking to do quite a bit more editing.)

I can't advise whether it's worth updating - but if you're only after it for that feature I wouldn't bother as it is so easy to do this.
Copy your footage onto two tracks.
Leave the top one alone (or adjust as desired)
Zoom in on the bottom one until it fills the screen width ways.
Add blur to the bottom one.
Job done!
