Thread: Blu-Ray discs 1080p 50/60fps Are there players that play this?

  1. Default Blu-Ray discs 1080p 50/60fps Are there players that play this?

I notice it is possible to burn Blu-Ray discs at 1080p at 50fps with Cyberlink PowerDirector (I'm using 16 Ultimate), although a compatibility warning is shown.
I need buy a player to play home made Blu-Ray discs at 50fps and until now I have been told on all websites that if it is 50/60fps it must be reduced to 720p, 1080p only works at 30fps or lower for Blu-Ray discs.
So is there such a player that will let me keep 1080p and 50fps and still play them?

    Isn't 1080 50/60 usually interlaced?

No, they are 1080p Progressive. 50/60p is the most common from camcorders.

That's as maybe, but this discussion is about BluRay and the BluRay spec (as opposed to UltraHD Blu Ray) only allowed 50/60 as interlaced.

    Thanks I Never knew that
PowerDirector gives me a progressive option (whereas my Pinnacle studio doesn't even give me 1080 at 50fps).
But I'll stick to video files via a media player rather than discs.

If that's an option, I think that's wise.
The difficulty is if you're producing films (my wife and I do local amteur productions) people feel they're getting something if they buy a DVD (there's no market for BluRays nowadays). Give them a USB stick they'll just copy it.
