"Frampton Comes Alive" was one of those albums that came out of nowhere and everyone seemed to own around 1976 in the UK. At least everyone in their teens. It seemed to appeal to both the rock crowd (the talk box was a cool gimmik when you're 14 I guess) and the girls (cos he was a pretty boy, maybe). And then he disappeared again, just as quickly as he came. But punk had arrived. Still around though, I see. Rick Beato did an interview with him recently.

Ah. A song I must have played dozens if not hundreds of times to passing trade in a hotel foyer.
Don't knock it - it was good pocket money and we got to play a wide range of different songs we loved. Including an acoustic & elecrtic bass version of Sultans of Swing in front of Ron Wood and "The Time Warp" when descended upon by a Rocky Horror convention when the hotel forgot to cancel us! Richard O'Brien said our music was "right up his boulevard". Make of that what you will.

Ah we never played that one although Wild World was a regular in our setlist. Fantastic songwriter with a very distinctive style. And so was Cat Stevens

Thanks for taking my call, Zam.
    Nice rendition of Mad World.

You nearly suffered a version of that sung by my daughter and me, but the video we made was just so bad I wouldn't subject you to it.

I love the facial hair by the way (on you, not on my daughter)
