    Default Newbie Alert

    Morning all.

For my birthday i was fortunate enough to be given a drone ( DJI Mavic Air ). Now i know this isnt the best drone out there but it does more than enough for my needs of taking holiday pictures etc. A friend as asked me to video his kids football team from above so he can see from a different view and i did this with no issue at all, however, the standard is pretty good but he has asked me if i can add names ( or numbers ) to the video that follow the players movements so he could identify players easier, is this something i could do?

Appreciate your feed back and look forward to contributing on here.

I could do that with Vegas Pro and I'm sure other video editing programs could be used. It's just a matter of having the right software and learning to use it.

Any idea what that function would be called?

It's called Motion Tracking and you can do it in HitFilm Express (which is free).
Here's a basic very quick howto.
But it's generally better not to map the text (or other object) tracK directly, but to create a point layer and parent your text layer to that (mumbo jumbo? All should become clear here.)
The reason this is better is it allows you to adjust the position of your text afterwards in relation to the point you have tracked.

If you're sold on the idea, here's a longer, more detailed explanation.
