Thread: combine a video and a still from the same scene to make a fake high res video

Default combine a video and a still from the same scene to make a fake high res video

I shot a short clip and a picture from a tripod. can't seem to get the two aligned right though. Any automated way to align one layer perfectly with another from the same scene in Premiere or After Effects?

I assume there are zero moving parts in the scene?

Not sure if Premiere or AE has such a feature, have never tried to do something like that. Photoshop has something along those lines - photo stacking, but i don't know if you can trick it to work with a video + photo.
I think it might freak because there is 1 picture frame vs hundreds of frames from the video.

Yeah tried that' didn't work. I did manage to do it manually for some shots but it's never perfect.

That's done with an HD vid and a 6000x4000 photograph I just wished there was a better way than trying to align it by sight by carefully stretching and scaling.

Hmm, can't say i know a better way to do it.

    What's your end resolution? 4K?
Have you tried to upscale the HD video in AE with detail-preserving upscale and see if you can align them?

I imagine the upscale would mess up the proportions maybe, but who knows.

Yeah I know about detail preserving upscale but the issue remains the alignment.
