Thread: which software?

    Hi all, I have download the following free software to begin my editing, Davinci resolve and Hitfilm express, neither seem to open my files for editing.
    Am I doing something wrong? I am trying to edit mpg files.

    What is the source of your mpg files? All mpg files are most definitely not the same.
    Even better, download MediaInfo (free), select one of your mpgs, go to TreeView and post here what it says.

    Can't speak for Resolve but I strongly suspect it's down to licencing issues with MPEG Audio. See this link:

    Try streamclip then save to an mp4

    Hi Thanks, done that.
    Do I need to now covert to MPEG, MPEG with MP2 audio or headed Mpeg? or do I export to MPEG-4?
