seriously doped = seriously delicious!
I'm more than happy to be proved wrong but I suspect you'll find no-one with any experience of this piece of kit.
The reason being that it's not on sale yet.
Check out http://tinyurl.com/2gpsl for more details but it looks like the new generation of MiniDV handycams to replace the DCRTRV19-33 series.
Anyone know any more?
Alan
That is exactly what I am talking about...maybe slightly different. But do you actually know if any sony camcorders are any good? Or am I being completely ridiculous by asking such a question ?

Apologies if i missed the point of your question before.
I have a Sony DCRTRV33E which I am very pleased with. As far as i can gather, others on this forum use a 33 too and they seem to have a pretty decent reputation as a high end, entry level MiniDV camcorder.
However, I'm new to this game myself and have only had my 33 for a matter of a few weeks so I'm hardly an officiando on the subject.
Persoanlly, I'm happy to recommend my Sony 33 to others. I'm particularly impressed with the widescreen mode.

Yes I too have a TRV33E and think it is quite good, and I have several camcorders over the years. Picture resolution is excellent. The important thing though is to read independent reviews and satisfy that any camera (Sony or amything else for that matter) meets what you want it to do. Also shop around for price. For example the TRV33 is currently retailing at anything from £499 to £650.
Try the following link for camera reviews,
and follow the review link.

Good Luck
Perhaps I will write a short review of the TRV33 and post in the next few days.
Oops. Yet agian I make a mess of the hyperlink. Here it is,
