Thread: A church ruin this time

  1. Default A church ruin this time

Just for a change, some ruins. Trying out some more static shots at the start and using fewer dissolves. Had a horrible job trying to get the colour nice, half the footage had a nasty green tinge, odd. Gusty day so got lots of wobbly footage.

Definitely an improvement in my book. Note how the cuts work best cutting between significantly different shots (wide to close or totally different angles) whereas the cut at around 31 secs felt a bit like a jump cut. The dissolve at 1:12 worked for me as it felt like we were just compressing time.
I also liked the "moving off into the distance" of the closing shot.

Great, it feels a little more complete to me.

I don't know was it meant to be but second shot with pan stops too fast. I would like to cut it so that the camera moving isn't going to stop but I don't know was this mean to be like that for some reason. But overall it was very nice. Third shot was very nice panning and tilting up. That shot somehow reminds me Nintendo 64 The Legend Of The Zelda: Ocarina Of Time game...

Thanks Toeh, now you mention that shot is a bit short, would have been nice to carry on till the upright post was out of shot.
