Default How to change letters in multiple colours in Sony Vegas 13?

I`ve been working with Sony Vegas on and off for a while now and like the program very much.
I`m working on a project now and I want to create the same thing with text like this picture:
I want to use this layout of colours for all the different text I have in my project. How can I do this with Sony Vegas 13?

There are to ways of doing it.
    1. Create it in a graphics program.
    2. With the text white on a black background use blending modes (Compositing mode) to make the text transparent by setting it to "multiply mask" and put a coloured piece of media under it.

My intention is to put the coloured letters over already made video.
I think I also read something about using the Protype Titler on Sony Vegas to create this effect; is this true?
Is it possible to create text and simply that over the text with all the different colours so your text takes on the different colours?

In the version I have you can only use a two colour gradient to fill the letters in Protype Titler it may be different in the latest version, I don't know.

You can still do it make the back ground of the text transparent with white text. Place your text colouring under that track and click on make compositing child. Then lay the video you want to see under these tracks. You should see the multi coloured text on top of the desired video.

This sounds more complicated than it actually is doing it.

Here is a link to a .veg file which shows the above.

Do I need to use opacity to create a transparent background when inserting a text media?

When I open the file using Sony Vegas, it says the file can`t be found
I have made a screenshot of what I`m seeing now.

Yes, you have to make the text have a transparent back ground.

Looks like you haven't selected Multiply (Mask) composition mode on the text track. The green button next to the level slider.

Cheers. It worked and I could see the end result. It was not what I had hoped, so I think I`m going to try and colour each letter separate.
