Thread: Premiere pro CC changes fps automatically in the wrong way

  1. Question Premiere pro CC changes fps automatically in the wrong way

I'm working with premiere pro 2013 release. After killing me with a bug in multi camera editing (!) it imports my 25 fps video with 12.5 fps.
I mean when I import my .mp4 video which is 25 fps and i created it with premiere it changes into 12.5 fps.
the audio works fine but the video is slow motion. after i interpret the video into 25 fps the audio goes wrong!

can somebody please help me I searched for it into web but i couldn't find any solution. just some other people having same problem...

    Thank you

Has the footage come from a mobile phone? It could be in Variable Frame Rate (VFR), which will mess up in editing software. You'd need to convert it to a Constant Frame Rate (CFR).
If you run the clips through Handbrake (free), you can manually force the transcodes to be CFR. When you reimport them into Premiere Pro, they'll be the 25fps you told them to be, and the audio will be in sync.

No it wasn't from mobile. the source was h264 mp4 file which i edited and exported as mp4. I always use this camera and this setting. this is the first time something like this happens.
I even used gspot to see the file format of the video. everything seems fine.

    thank you for your attention

Hi spido. Did you ever find a solution to this problem?

If not, could you perhaps add some screen caps of your workflow? Or even better a screen record.
