    Default DV Capture Problem

    Hello,
Here I am again with one more question that when I capture Analog video(VHS) via Pinnacle Studio AV/DV 9 in DV (Best) format the scenes begin to intermingle. As soon as the scene changes few frames of previous scene comes between the next scene(found via vegas) & that makes video shaking.
Pls tell whats wrong. Is there any problem with the card or codec or something else?

    Best Regards,
    Nad Kishore

    Thaks for the responce Brian.
This happens during both the times. During capure its clearly noticable that where scene changes the previous & next frames are getting mixed & the same seems during playback.

My PC Config Is: Intel 915 GAV mother Board, PIV 3.0 Ghz with HT,
I GB RAM (Kingston), GeForce PCX 5300 Graphics Card.
    Seagate SATA HDD (7200 RPM).

One more thing is that I use Vegas 6 For Editting Video which requires Microsoft Net Framework with its Service Pack Installed. I doubt if thats causing the problem.

YOu have a good spec PC there, so it dosent seem like a low spec problem.
YOu mentioned During capture the problem is also there, so dosent seem like a 15Gig all in one file problem ( not too me anyway)

Can you try one thing please, capture just 5 mins.
Is the 5 min capture just the same ?

    Hello Brian,
Here I made an experiment which has given positive results.
I removed my GeForce PCX 5300 graphics card & captured. There was no problem with onboard graphics. But as soon as I reinstalled the card the problems was there.
I tried to capture from my DV cam via DV input but that got paused after few seconds.
I think there is some thing wrong with the card or driver.
Pls let me know your views.

    Regards,
    Nand Kishore

    intersting.

Not being silly but have you the latest drivers for the card and the latest ACtive X drive from Micro$oft ?

Sounds like you have found the problem, just need to sort it without buying a new graphics card.
