    Default Free stock footage?

Looking for stock footage for my documentary.

Are there any websites that do this type of thing?

A Google of "free stock footage" comes up with many. Most obviously as teasers to tempt you into buying the good stuff, but there is certainly some available. It might help if you were a bit more specific about what you're after.

I was kind of hoping there was an established free stock footage site where filmmakers went to rather than the lucky dip of a google search.

I am looking for any footage to do with the Israeli Palestine conflict.

Ahh. So you wanted recommendations! (That's not what you asked )

I don't use stock footage myself, but for:

My favourite stock footage website has a massive public domain library: https://www.pond5.com/free and there's also a free clip of the week on there. Not much but it may help

Just to give an update on this.

I found best and cheapest way to get footage I could use in my film was to search YouTube for videos shot by activists , send them message saying what I am doing and most of them are more than happy to let me use there footage for nothing.

Ah that is good to hear. It really depends on the type of footage you are looking for sometimes.

As a side note for future seekers: In my earlier post about free stock footage on www.pond5.com I mentioned a free clip of the day. This is not available any more. There are however a couple of free collections added. I have found at least one containing 20 free timelapse videos at https://www.pond5.com/timelapses
They also currently feature a very cool selection of Free After Effects Templates which can be found at: https://www.pond5.com/graphics
