Just got a Sony DCR-HC85 Handycam Mini DV and i'm trying to get it hooked up to my pc via the i-link, i've had 2 other digital camcorders and had no problem with using this function, infact i've made 100's of DVD's no problem at all!
This time when i plug in the firewire and turn the camera to play nothing happends, normally the PC (windows xp) picks it up directly and loads it. I look into the view finder and it says DV-in which is what my other ones do but still my PC does not see the camcorder?? I've hooked up my other 2 cameras to check the port and cable and everything works fine with them.
I've loaded the usb drivers off the disk which came with the camcorder and i can transfer pictures but not video through the i-link!
So is my port dead on the camcorder? but i dont think so cos my camcorder says DV-in when i plug the cable in!
Do i need to set a setting on the camcorder??
Or do i need some drivers??
