Heh heh! I still think I'm going to attempt this in Vegas and/or HitFilm, but have just finished one film and my daughter got married yesterday so guess what i'll be editing next. Then I have to film an archaeological dig in September funded by Lottery money (the di, not my filming) ... so maybe this side of Christmas :0

    Nice job worddigger

Not bad. Did you model the dinosaur yourself?

No, the dinosaur plates are provided by HCW along with the actor action plate (available at this URL: http://www.hollywoodcamerawork.com/trackingplates.html). To composite the scene correctly required me to create garbage mattes to re-insert the actor in front of the running dinosaur in a couple of places and also required re-inserting the tree so that the dinosaur ran behind the tree instead of in front. The last portion of the scene required taking almost all of the frames after the boy and T-Rex run behind the tree, and hand-paint the frames of the boy green (see attached graphic) so that a matte could be generated with a chroma key to re-insert the boy in front of the dinosaur and the debris. That part was just too visually complex to do with multiple hand-cut garbage mattes and rotoscoping.

    Yes, it was tedious work.

Thanks, Ray. I appreciate the feedback.
I'm think of having a little fun with the clips, using the dino animation but substituting a different actor and location, just for fun of doing it. I'll have to wait until the weather cools off here in Kuwait to do any outdoor filming. Plus I'll need to find a location with something other than palm trees.

I simply don't have the patience to do this sort of work so well done for taking the time to produce it. I noticed it was full or digger type humour.

You're right, Midnight. Sometimes I'm full of it.
