Default EMERGENCY TECH HELP NEEDED!!! - DESPARATE HERE!!!

Right My brother has had a mojor problem with his machine!! - In windows Task Manager he quite the svhost.exe,Network Service. His machine did the dreaded blue screen. Most times now when starting up it fails to boot repeating the blue screen.

Now the main problem is this - he was using 2 IDE disks as backup devices and now on trying to access them on my machine they appear, but are not initiated. Within the Computer Managment Console the drive appears as "unallocated". Its the same for both drives.

Any ideas on what has happened and how to recover the data????

    PLEASE WE ARE DESPARATE!!!

First hit your brother over the head. Never quit system critical services.

The good news is that all the data is still there. Don't whatever you do try and initialise your drive as you'll end up erasing all the data.

Get yourself some data recovery software:

Ususally, as long as the data hasn't been literally written over, you standa very good chance of getting it back.

Might need to re-load the OS though, if they were system drives.

Yeah they jus backup drives - His os is on a separate raid.

Marc - How long did it take you to recover the data when you did it? - GetDataBack has been running since 10:30 last night still got 25% left to go - its a 200gig disk.
