    Default Some advice please :)

    Hello all!

As this seems the correct forum I have a question for all of you.
It is: could you give me some advice?

The story: My name is Kevin and I will go abroad within 2 weeks for about 7 months.
I want to make one or 2 video montages within this period for my girlfriend and 1 as a general montage for all I have done.
I will go to 3 countries and work there for 2-3 months each.
I would love to shoot a video to send my girlfriend. (So something 'cute' in it )

These are the first ideas I had for some shots: - first before I leave a few seconds of my home town and in the car leaving. Also some shots of me and my gf together
    - going through airport security and some airplane footage.
    - some shots of where I live, daily life and special occurences.
    - some more airplane security
    - something nice for my gf ( like I miss you with photos or videos of us)

The thing is, I only have a gropro and my phone camera (samsung galaxy s4). And i am also rather noob in the whole video making and making montages so all tips/links/insights are very welcome!!

Thank you very much in advance for any trouble taken!

Well, you almost have everything you need.

The GoPro is certainly good enough for what you want to do. Add a laptop with a cheap 'n' easy editing package and you are ready to go!

Just be really careful about the "airport security" bit. Most airports won't let you video or photograph in those areas and it would be a shame if you miss your flight and get your gear confiscated.

The secret to making good montages is the music. Get decent music and you can more-or-less throw any video at it and it will look good!

What countries are you going to? We could give you some ideas

you could make a series and upload a new episode to YouTube every week or two - if you don't have access to a PC then you can do the editing on your phone using one of the many available android apps

if you are making a movie for your girlfriend, then an important cinematographic tip is to avoid showing a large number of intoxicated, scantily clad young women in your montages - please save those shots for the montages you are planning to post here

Got it - ok here is the story line for your video series:

    1) first you go to Greece and explore the island of Santorini - in a local shop you find an artifact with an odd symbol on it and you question whether this could possibly be proof that Santorini is really the site of the lost continent of Atlantis

    2) Asia is a big place, but you make your way to Angkor Wat and - low and behold - you find another local shop where you pick up an artifact with a similar symbol to the one you picked up in Greece - the two artifacts seem to fit together like pieces in a puzzle - the plot thickens

    3) from Central America you take a 36-hour bus ride to Peru (it's an old school bus and there is a chicken on your lap - you get the idea) - and visit the Nazca lines where you find the last clue - a third artifact with a similar symbol - you confirm that the artifacts fit together like a puzzle but you realize that you are still missing a piece!

Always leave room room for a sequel

get your friends to help you make some convincing artifacts in metal shop

    thank me later
