Smile Editing mp4 video without losing quality. What software and how to do it?

    Hi,
I am trying to crop and add text to my video without losing it's quality. I tried MovieMaker but it completely blurs the output video with recommended output settings.

Is there some free software which will allow me to accomplish this? I also need to be able to publish the video on YouTube without any legal issues.

Spend a few dollars on a proper editing software product - try Sony Vegas

if if you filmed all the video yourself, composed and recorded all the music yourself, made sure you have releases from any identifiable humanoids in the video, made sure you have the OK from any products or companies either intentionally or accidentally depicted in your video - then you should have no legal issues

First question, why are you trying to crop and by how much? That's going to have a big effect on things.
