Default How to overlay (superimpose) multiple video clips?

    Hi,
Just looking for advice on software that's available in order to overlay multiple clips on top of each other - to create quite a messy, jumbled image on purpose.
I'm an amateur and use Final Cut on my Mac, which i understand can only overlay two clips in any one project.
I could go through a time-consuming process of exporting, importing and overlaying time and time again to build up the layers, but just if anyone knows a simpler route that i can do in one go?
I'm looking at overlaying about 20 clips if that makes any difference.
    Many thanks for any help.

Are you sure you're using Final Cut? Exactly which version?

I use FCPX on a daily basis and have never bumped in to any track limits or over lay limits. The most overlays I've had on any singe clip was 130 !!!!

It sounds more like you're using iMovie which does have such limits.

Definitely not FCP any version maybe those from 15 years ago, you can have great number of video and audio tracks for sure, check your software.
