Default Help with Opening and Editing the attached video

    Hello Everyone,
I have a video saved from an NVR and so far, none of the current players and editors can open this file.
I found a player that would play the file, but it is very basic and does not edit.
I need to edit these files as I have tons of them from a CCTV.
The format is in MP4 but must have something else, cause no MP4 player can open it. They all say this is a faulty file or invalid file, but is not correct. The file is good and I can open it with an application called Player Microsoft Application which I believe is some sort of pirated china software.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Theo

'None' seems to be a very broad statement. What current players and editors have you tried? You may need to post a sample file otherwise how would we be able to tell you what will open it?

I seem to remember a number of of CCTV footage feeds I have been asked to edit through my primary job in the NHS have resulted in the same, the best I could find is I would need to buy a specific codec to edit. I am sure there is software to convert it but within the NHS getting none "certified" software installed is difficult to say the least! I told the requester to go back to CCTV supplier and ask them to give me a format I could edit.
    Cheers
