Default macbook pro good for video editing?

I recently bought a 13" Macbook Pro, and I was wondering if it was good enough for video editing. Here are the specs:

    2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
    Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz
    4GB 1600MHz memory
    500GB 5400-rpm hard drive
    Intel HD Graphics 4000

I'm planning in replacing the hard drive with an SSD and upping the RAM to 8GB.

It should be fine, particularly with those upgrades.

I have a 15" Macbook Pro circa 2013. I was under the impression that these machines were not upgradable, ie. Ram, HDD, GFX. Am I wrong...?

Generally speaking, the retina display models are those that cannot be upgraded.
