Aspex Semiconductor, a developer of high performance software programmable processors and platforms, is offering Showreel magazine subscribers a prize of one of their High Definition MPEG-2 Encoders for plug and play accelerated encoding (worth $15,000 / £9000 ) plus £1000 prize money, as well as the chance to show your short during IBC in Amsterdam (60,000 visitors) and publicity in Showreel magazine.
The short should be, no longer than 15-minutes in length and to qualify must have been shot using an HD or HDV camera (with an HD version edited and available). We want you to show off your skills; lots of action scene changes and close ups etc, ranges of lighting hues... All content must be copyright cleared for exhibition and future public demonstration use.
In the first instance, simply send an SD copy of your short on VHS or DVD
