Thread: Premiere CC problem importing avi with mp3@44.1khz

Default Premiere CC problem importing avi with mp3@44.1khz

I have some avi files with an MP3 audio track coded @44.1khz, 16bit stereo.
When I import these avi files into Premiere, it makes the audio track 11khz 16bit mono and obviously it can be heared some cracks and pops sometimes.
Other avi with MP3 @32khz or 48khz import well, so the problem is with 44.1khz.

What can I do to correct import those files?

    Default

I solved extracting the audio track MP3 and importing as an audio only track. But this is a workaround, it can't be the correct behaviour in Premiere.
Here is a pic with the 2 tracks imported: the first one is mono 11khz, the second is correct:

If you want to hear also the audio degradation, you can try this part of the original clip (3MB), load it in Premiere:

To me this is a bug.
