Default Ok what software can I buy for video editing

About to get my Canon C100

I have only ever used Pinnacle Studeo from the VERY first one to the latest, it has always been rubbish, hangs, stops etc but I live with that.

However, is there better such as Adobe Premier that I can buy and OWN and NOT be part of the flipping cloud

    Thank you

(Oh, is any of the software easier to learn)

The post #7 in this thread from a few days back is still useful and a good starting point in your case probably too.

If you're on a Mac then FCPX is absolutely in the ball park. Editing with FCPX saves me literally hours every week over using Premiere Pro (which I've also used extensively, so it's not a tribal thing for me, it's down to experience).

If you're on windows then it's a little more difficult. Edius and Vegas are the two main competitors.

C100 footage should edit easily in all of these platforms as long as you're CPU has the horse power for AVCHD.

The C100 has been my default go to camera now for several months, for everything except GoPro speciality scenes.

I seem to remember from previous threads that the OP is on Windows. So if he considers e.g. Sony Vegas Pro from SCS, this features comparison table may be useful.
Check the Sony Creative Software site for Vegas and the Grass Valley site for Edius.

Sony Vegas is the best value for money

fcpx is the easiest and most intuitive to use

the adobe suite has the most functionality but you'll pay for it and have to join all the other tosses on the flipping cloud

Thank you all, much appreciated, so what you are saying is that despite the amazing price Sony Vegas is the best to use for any work

I have just run Sony Vegas Pro "trial" and the Sony Studio Platinum I have, there looks like almost no difference..........

Is there one worth the extra 300+
