Thread: My first music video 'Heaven Knows'

Default My first music video 'Heaven Knows'

This is a song I produced for artist 'Steve J.Ward'. I hadn't made a proper video of any kind until now but I figured I would give it a try. The process from audio daw editor to premiere pro was very straight forward after some learning curve.

Filmed on a sony VG30 with stock 18-200 kit lens and 35mm f1.8 lens. Here is the video. I would welcome any feedback good or bad, particularly on, in hindsight, my possible overuse of cross fades? Is it cool or uncool these days?

Well, if this is really your first "proper" video you should be very proud of what you've achieved.

Thanks you for that. Yes it definately is. The only videos I've made in the past are iphone ones in my studio or a handheld camera (shaky!) at a gig. Thank you.

Ignore Midnight's comment. You should be proud of it whether on not it's your first "proper" video
It shows a good understanding of both your tools and the subject.

It's never wise to ignore you, Midnight. There are many gems hidden among your conspiracy theories. I'm just irked that someone's first video is streets ahead of what I can produce photographically after several years!

Hey nice video ........couple of things I really liked. The overall colour (browns, blacks etc.) was lovely and when the dancers appeared the red looked superb. A couple of things I didn't like.....1' 16''-1' 23'' was far too shakey for me. I think it disturbed the otherwise excellent flow up until that point. 1'35''...nice shot but again too shaky to be included. 3'53''....other times too, I couldn't see the point of including the lighting as a point of interest.

    Other than that, excellent.
