Thread: Pan and Crop

  1. #1

    Default Pan and Crop

Why is it when I select pan and crop I am not always able to zoom fully out in the pan/crop window?
After inserting a slideshow, I can only zoom in to 12.5%. If I insert a photo on its own I can zoom in all the way to zero.

There is a limit to the amount you can zoom out. You could try changing the aspect ratio to see if this makes a difference.

Why is the limit different on the same photo? If I load the photo onto the time line manually I can zoom out, if the photo is loaded via slide show I can only zoom out to 12.5. What I want to do is create a slide show with many photos and then go in and do some pan/crop edits.

Like I said it's probably to do with the aspect ratio. What software are you using ?

I'm using Sony movie studio (12) platinum suite.
If I undock the pan crop window and enlarge the window I can zoom out.
But using the SAME image and NOT using insert slide show I can zoom out.
Is there another way of inserting multiple images and applying automatic transitions ?

Maybe I am not understanding any of what you're trying to do, but
I tested zooming pics with MSP 12 and 13 and don't seem to be able to replicate the canNOT zoom all the way part of this.
Do you remember to "Sync Cursor"?

OTOH, IF you mean Workspace Zoom, I get the 12.5% limit in all cases.

But as I said, maybe I'm totally missing your point.

You could check the Vasst StillMotion Fasst App plug-in. See SCS site Software / Partner Products. About 10 in /$/.

Hi and thanks for holding out on me

Yes it is the workspace zoom, I've experimented more and on some pictures I can zoom out to 12.5% and the picture goes quite small and you can grab hold of the grab handles and other picture although zoom to 12.5% the picture is still not fully on show and the grab handles are not in the window. Hope this makes a bit more sense. Cheers

You can click the Workspace Zoom % numbers Box and use the pull-down menu to see a slider. Use it to get below 12.5. You can also type the % you want in the box.
And try resizing the P&C window dragging it to what your screen allows.

If I click in the Workspace Zoom % numbers Box and use the slider 12.5 is the lowest it goes also if I type the % in the box and hit return it jumps back to 12.5%
Resizing the P&C window works but I want to find out whats causing the problem on some photos...

Sorry, the 12.5 limit seems to be still in MSP 12, MSP 13 goes below that. For the previous post, I checked only in v 13.
My photos seem to behave consistently though.
