    Default Sony repairers????

Does anyone know of a good SONY repairer in the UK (pref NW). My DCR PC120 has now lost LCD image and records blackness. Most camera shops in the area dont want to know and any who do claim to repair want 60 to "take a look at it"!!! 60 to be told that its fecked!!! No way jose!

    Any recommendations?

Is it still in the warranty period? If it is, you should be able to send it back to the shop you bought it from and they should be able to fix it orsend you a new one. If not you could try contacting Sony (details on their website) and ask them about their recommended repair shops.

    Hope this helps

And why shouldn't they get paid for the time taken to investigate the fault in your camera? Maybe it is 'fecked' (as you put it) but it will still take the repair guy an hour to work that out. I wouldn't 'consult' for less than 60 per hour so why should he?

Default If I earned 60 an hour.....I'd bin it and get a new HD!

Unfortunately the camera is just outside its warranty period and the Sony recommended repairer want 167.50 for minimum repair.
I picked up the camera for 700 ,new, 2 years ago. They go for 450 ish on ebay these days. So I'd like to get it fixed on the cheap too.
Just thought other folks in the industry might have some cheaper ideas. (that is....those who, like me, earn 60 a day from their video skills..... not 60 an hour like Mr Mills )

(I think Mr Mills is a bit of an IT wizz - they get paid a handsome sum don't you know )
