    Default Ripple effects

I'm a long time user of Premiere pro and maybe I'm missing the obvious......but the ripple effect is shit. I've tried changing the keyframes and the number of ripples and "pond effect" etc but nothing looks very natural.....like throwing a pebble into a pond. Any ideas???????

These kind of effects simply do look shit in NLEs. I think what you want would take a sophisticated 3D modeling application.
