A conniving young woman - part private investigator, part call girl - is hired by a businesswoman to sabotage the marriage of her CEO.
WHO IS RACHEL HUNTER?
Rachel Hunter has a unique job: she exposes men's affairs, follows suspected adulterers, and in her own words, “provides leverage to those willing to pay for it.” When Rachel graduates from simple seduction to corporate sabotage, she jumps into a larger arena: one with better pay, larger stakes, and increased danger. As she soon learns, the greatest threat of all could be her own weaknesses.
HOW IS THIS STORY DIFFERENT?
This is not a typical hooker with a heart of gold story. Rachel has a chip on her shoulder; a driving menace that pushes her to leap past moral quandaries and cut through anyone who stands in her way. We've seen a crop of male anti-heroes capture the zeitgeist in recent years: Don Draper, Walter White, Mark Zuckerburg from The Social Network, Ryan Gosling's character from Drive, and so on. The opportunity to explore similar realms of moral ambiguity from a female perspective is an exciting prospect. However, Rachel Hunter is not an island in a man's world nor a cold, calculating manipulator. At her core is an undeniable vulnerability and tacit desire to engage in meaningful interactions with men. It is this conflicting desire that leads her to question everything she knows about her job and her life.
Neither and Both was conceived as a short film but easily functions as a potential pilot. The story told here is complete, but could be part of a larger world and a deeper exploration of the many contradictions of Rachel Hunter.
HOW IS THIS CAMPAIGN DIFFERENT?
This campaign is taking a radically different approach to perks and incentives. Let's face it: very few people want memorabilia from an independent level project, after all we can't give you Ryan Gosling's leather jacket complete with his manly stench. So, we've taken a slightly different approach to encourage you to donate. We're here for your entertainment, and we want to prove it to you.
Our perks are largely of an extremely personal and interactive nature. Cast members will record your voicemail, write and sing a song about you, or recreate classic movie scenes with an ironic twist that you decide! Our director will sing your favorite karaoke song in the public location of your choosing! Instead of getting swag, you get the chance to play choose your own adventure with our cast and crew.
We'll post videos of our stunts, sketches, songs and shenanigans throughout our campaign with the hope that embarrassing ourselves for our art will allow us to pursue our project.
HOW ARE Y'ALL DIFFERENT?
We are the hardest working cast and crew you will ever meet. Hands down. Pleased to meet you. Allow us to introduce ourselves.

WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?
Filmmaking is sadly not inexpensive. Doubly so in Los Angeles. Our budget is primarily going towards equipment, locations, meals, and cast and crew. Because we are using SAG actors, we are required to follow SAG guidelines such as day rates, shooting duration, and meals provided.
- Meals/Craft Services: $3,000
- Locations/Permits: $3,000
- Fees and Insurance: $2,000
- Equipment: $1,900
- Cast: $1,600
- Crew: $1,600
- Festival Fees: $1,000
- Administrative/Contingency: $475
- Props/Wardrobe: $300
- Total = $14,875
We have saved every penny and called in every favor in order to make this budget as minimal as possible without sacrificing the end result. The majority of individuals on this project are dedicating their time without compensation. Because of this, we've managed to eliminate our Post-Production budget, which is normally quite sizable.
Our shooting schedule is six full days in January on location in Los Angeles. We will be working at an incredibly streamlined pace as our production script is 31 pages. We have done all we can to lower our budget with the hopes that this project can become a reality.
