Default Best input format for PPro 2.0?

    Hello,

For HD can anyone tell me what the best file format would be for PPro 2.0? It accepts my gopro video but runs like a dog. It's a little better with iPhone video but not much better. I'd like to be able to edit smoothly like I do in SD. My laptop has lots of CPU so I don't think that's the problem.

The performance bottlenecks may exist in CPU, Memory or Disk. If using Windows, Task manager may help (and using later Windows, the very helpful "Resource Monitor"). Does any of the graphs/details go wild whilst PPro is limping?

    OK

I tried it again and watched Task Manager to see if anything was spiking

Nothing was spiking. In fact, the whole PPro interface remained very responsive. The only problem is that the playback in the monitor window is choppy, even in "Draft" mode. It is workable, except that it is always nicer to see a smooth playback.

    Thanks,
    Zam

Might it be related to the settings for "preview quality"? I think there may be options like "automatic" or "highest".
