    Default Compressing files for sending

    Hey folks,

Hope you can help me out. I work for a media publication with a healthy YouTube account, for which we produce videos on an almost daily basis, as well as hosting them on our site using BrightCove

I'm heading off to South America for a month early next year to cover an event, and will be trying to produce multiple videos a day (~4mins). However, because of where we're working from I'll be sending using prohibitively expensive satellite comms.

I'm used to simply exporting my finished videos at what we have saved as our normal settings - 1080p, Pro Res 422, etc - but for this trip I want to reduce the size as much as possible, while retaining some sort of decent quality. It's not an issue cutting them down to 720p, but I'd like to be exporting at under 100mb instead of my current 3 or 4 gb!

    Any suggestions?

Reduce the bitrate of your exporter and you will get the idea.

create an mp4 using firefogg, miro, handbrake or similar tools. They'll reduce size dramatically, it depends on the content for quality.
I managed to get the two videos used for the iamtudor project down to below 30mb using handbrake as theres more settings to control bitrate and video size in there.
