    Default 7200rpm External HD

    Hi

Firstly sorry for posting this here, the hardware forum does not exist anymore?

My query- I am having difficulty finding a 7200rpm external HD. PC world seem to stock just 5400rpm HD's. Any pointers?

    Thanks

Make one! Get a laptop harddrive like this one (I used this as my second drive on my laptop) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-750G...te+momentus+xt and put it a USB 3 enclosure. I have one of these (pricey, but lovely looking) http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Hi Marc

Thanks for the reply. A friend has also suggested that- seems feasable.

Question- how important is 7200rpm as apposed to 5400rpm?

Ok, so I went for a Seagate Barracuda 2tb & bought a HDD enclosure from PC World. Works a charm

Getting much better results with PPro due to it's speed.

Only one issue- as soon as I switch it on, it causes a interference/continuous buzzing noise in the speakers hmmm- it's worse when the volume is down.
