Default Buying Vegas Movie Studio HD 11

I'm about to buy Vegas Movie Studio HD 11, so I'm trying to find the best (cheapest) online store.

Amazon sells it for much less than Sony itself ($33 vs $50), but do not offer a digital download, only a physical box.

I've found this site (heavily promoted on fake blogs etc) selling it for $19:

Can anybody suggest a good place?

    Many thanks,

Check the Sony Creative Software online store again. You should find competitive offers valid till Sept 27. Consider getting Movie Studio Platinum 12, which includes the disc authoring and burning.
See the comparison charts on the SCS site.

Thanks, still $49.99 though on my screen:

Movie Studio Platinum 12 is tempting - can somebody please confirm for me if 12 allows multiple codec support - I'm having a tough time having to pre convert a lot of my avis and movs before 11 can use it, even though AVS Video Editor and all players on my pc can play the use no problem.

You'll' probably need to acquire some codecs for those, but DO NOT install any codec packs, only the one(s) necessary. The free MediaInfo software will be your friend.

I'm certain I have the codecs, Videolan, Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic and all AVS tools can play the files.

It's just a simple xvid in an AVI container:

    Format : AVI
    Format/Info : Audio Video Interleave
    File size : 445 MiB
    Duration : 12mn 16s
    Overall bit rate : 5 067 Kbps

    ID : 0
    Format : MPEG-4 Visual
    Format profile : Advanced Simple@L5
    Format settings, BVOP : No
    Format settings, QPel : No
Format settings, GMC : No warppoints
Format settings, Matrix : Default (MPEG)
    Codec ID : XVID
    Codec ID/Hint : XviD

Quite stumped. I've also sent Sony a support request with a sample file and they came back after 14 days saying it's a missing codec.

I use the Platinum Suite, v10 which now is something like a Bargain, IMHO.
However, v11/12 offer editing of -p footage as well as -I. I suspect the price-difference is very little so it' probably better to go for the later version.
v13 may be out soon, so that could start price-drops . . . might be worth waiting a few weeks...
As always DYOR and compare features on SCS website along with some Tutorials.

v12 also offers animated Text, which is nice, - but has reduced the number of Royalty-free music tracks.
