Screen shot 2013-09-24 at 16.43.22.jpgHi there.
Im wondering if somebody can please advise me on something.
I am having an issue exporting h.264 from Premiere Pro CS5. I have been searching online for an answer but couldn't find one.
I export h.264 from the drop down dialogue and this is all fine. The exported file plays fine. The quality is fine, and when I check the properties of the file using (CMD+i) It shows up as h.264.
However when I check the movie properties in Quicktime player 'movie inspector' it shows up as 'AVC Coding' and not 'H.264'
I never even realised this was happening until a client wanted to re-encode the files I sent over in MPEG streamclip and couldn't as it would deliver up an error message. I know that AVC and h.264 are somehow the same? But I am wondering why cant it just show up as h.264 so I can re-encode it in MPEG streamclip?
Its really weird as the file plays fine in any player.
A work around I found is to export the file from Premiere as a PRO RES then re encode as h.264 in MPEG Streamclip but this means I have to encode everything twice..
I have attached a screen grab of my export settings from Premiere. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
PS I am running on a MAC BOOK PRO, i7,8GB ram, OSX 10.6.8
