Default VideoStudio 9.0 Support DVD MPEG2 Editing????

I'm considering purchasing a Sony DCR-DVD403 camcorder. It is of the variety that burns you footage directly onto a DVD. I read a great review for this camcorder in PC World. However it was stated that many video editing software suites can't edit DVD MPEG2 video. Does anyone know if VideoStudio 9.0 supports this format? I searched the web and scoured Ulead's site to no avail. Hopefully someone out there has a DVD-R based camcorder and can clear up this matter. Thanks Much!!

I would not advise getting a DVD camcorder if you want to edit. These cameras were never really designed for video "editing".

    Don't get a DVD camcorder.

The quality is far inferior to MiniDV tapes, and as Marc said, they're a horrible horrible thing to edit. Once the file's been re-encoded a couple of times, you'll begin to see degradation in the image quality.

Thanks alot fella's for thee quick response. I am interested in editing my footage so I think I'll pass on the Mini-DVD camcorder. My other option I was looking into was the Panasonic PV-GS250 w/ 3CCD, it received great reviews except in real low lighting which won't concern me too much. Thanks again!!!
