    Default help. how to do this in fcpx.

    i didnt know how to explain this effect. but how to i do text like at the beginning of this video. like you can see video through the text on a black background. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyBTzju9yAA

    It is what it is. A black background with transparent text. This is placed on a track above the original video so the video shows through the transparent text.

    Or, in the "Titles" browser you can find a title called "Knock Out" attach this above your video as a connected clip and you can work on, make changes to, the text directly inside FCPX. The title has a bit of movement built into it, if you don't want that right click on the title in the browser and select "open a copy in Motion", delete the keyframes and rename the title before saving it out for use in FCPX.

    If you don't have/use Motion let me know and I'll do it for you.

    I did't know about the 'Knock out' title, but you can do this with EVERY text type, by changing de 'blend mode' in de video properties (Compositing) of the text in 'Stencil Alpha' or 'Stencil Luma'.
    You can adjust the amount of opacity of the 'see-trough' letters.

    Even better Jan, that gives loads of options for in and out animations and the "Stencil Luma" gives some nice opacity control over adjusting the titles individual letters, lines or words colours/greyscale values.
