    Default Splitting AVI Files

    Hi,

Do any of you have experience with taking a segment of an AVI file? I have tried three pieces of software, Virtual Dub, AviDemux and AVI splitter. All of them add unwanted frames on the front end. That is, If I say begin segment at frame 20, they start at frame 15. (The number isn't consistent and is dependant on the video file) I have many videos to chop. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you!

I often use "FFMPEG" http://www.ffmpeg.org for that kind of requirement.

Is your video in a highly-compressed format with inter-frame compression (like h.264 or DivX)?
In this case you can split only at GOP level.
