    Default 8mm film to computer

I have about thirty 50 foot reels of old 8mm film. I'd like to play it on my HDTV and computer. The services I checked with have different options. My question is which format is best to change it into for loading into the computer and editing it? What are the optional formats to input and their pros and cons? Which do you think is the best? What experience have you had with different conversions? Thanks Alan.

What method are you using to digitise the footage ? The easiest way, if you have a projector, is to show the film and film it with a digital camera. So it really depends on what equipment you have. the usual format from consumer cameras is .mp4 which will be ok. There are better CODECs but that depends on the camera you have.
